Children's Museum

Last weekend when I had the girls, we went up to the Gateway Children's Museum in SLC. We have talked about going for a while, but haven't made it up there before. The kids sure enjoyed it and had fun with their cousins. There were a lot of hands on activities for the kids to do. Tayla really liked the water activities and playing with the ducks. Bryawna liked the puppets and rock wall. Kayley liked the media center and the activities around that. There was a sell on the year membership, so we bought it and plan to return often.

New Years Resolution

New years is always a good time to make a weight loss resolution. Often times it becomes a good thought, but nothing ever becomes of it. This year to try to have some motivation, seven co-workers and I entered into a little friendly competition. We are trying to see who can lose the most weight and change their body fat composition. We get 3 points for every pound we lose, and 5 points for losing a point in body fat. It has been fun to go to the city gym during the week to lift weights to try and change our body fat composition (my co-worker Ryan has been great to show us what to do). I also have started to do water aerobics. Mom and Michelle have also joined me in going to water aerobics. It is pretty fun and is a good workout as well! So far I have dropped 2 points in my body fat composition and 5 pounds. I don't know if I will win overall, but I am very grateful for the motivation of the competition. I'll let you know in April who wins (hopefully me).

Crazy Christmas Decorating

Why is decorating for the holidays such a crazy thing? Or is it just me? Seems like making a mess is just an inevitable part of the process. You have to get everything out to make sure you know your "stock of goods" because there is nothing worse than getting something arranged and then you open a box to find a decoration you forgot about and would much rather have up. The kids were excited to help this year. It was kinda fun to figure out where to put things in a new house. The kids were big helpers, but their attention span wasn't long enough to get the job done. It took a couple days and a trip to Tai Pan to get some new decorations for the tree before the job was done. We were pretty happy with the result so we thought we would share a picture of the tree.

Santa Night

Monday night we made our annual trip to see Santa. Grandma Cindy had found cute outfits for the kids, but Kayley was not impressed. She said she was "too old" to sit on Santa's lap and was not going to wear the sweater Grandma had bought. She had quite an attitude the whole way out there. She didn't stop until her phone was taken away from her. She eventually changed her attitude and actually smiled for the picture. I told her your never too old to sit on Santa's lap. She just thought I "was weird" for saying that.

I think we ended up with a great picture (can't ask for more than the kids all looking forward and non of them crying). We were sad Jensen wasn't here to have the traditional cousin picture. Hopefully he gets his picture with Santa too.

Reflection's Contest

This is Kayley's entry into this years Reflection's Contest. The theme this year was "WOW". Kinda left things wide open. Kayley has entered every year and has done really well. Last year she even went on to the regional level.

This was Bryawna's entry into the Reflection's Contest. She saw Kayley working on one and decided she was going to give it a try. On Friday, November 21st she was awarded an Outstanding Achievement Ribbon for her efforts.

Kenny Loggins Concert

This Wednesday I went to a Kenny Loggins concert at the Covey Art Center (doing my part to support Provo City and the local art center). It was a great concert, with a lot of good music. I have to say though, the most entertaining part was the "groupies" who would yell things out to him like "your amazing", "we love you", etc. One lady went on about how she had met him years ago at a concert and he offered her some backstage passes (probably to get her to shut up). After the show, when I was using the restroom, this lady was "prepping" to see Kenny Loggins. She was a grown women acting like teenager girls do for the Jonas Brothers. I'd never act like that (well maybe if it was Tim McGraw).

Disneyland Trip October 2008

The girls and I along with Grandma Cindy, Aunt Michelle and cousin Ally were grateful we were able to go to Disneyland this year. It had been 4 years since our last girls trip to Disneyland. It was fun that Tayla and Ally were willing to play "dress up". Kayley and Bryawna said it would "throw off their grove" if they dressed up. Guess their too cool for that (as you can see from their High School Musical hats).

We spent 5 days in Disneyland, which we made good use of trying to see and do everything there is in both parks. There is one picture of Bryawna on the ground by Splash Mountain when she had all the fun she could handle for the day.
